It may surprise you to learn that 60% of all pain experienced by our clients is referred pain. Referred pain is pain that is perceived at a location other than the part of the body where the original problem lies. This means if the Massage Therapist bases their treatment on the site of the pain, without a proper orthopedic assessment, the chance of improper identification of the problem can be exceptionally high. OMC’s Director, Dr. Lanre Salami (MB, BS Lagos, RMT) is a medical graduate with many years experience teaching and practicing Orthopedic Massage Therapy. Over the last two decades Dr. Salami’s contributions to the massage therapy profession in Alberta have been numerous. As a result, he brings a unique perspective and rare expertise to the profession.
